About the University of Winchester
Our Basingstoke campus, opened in 2003, offers a variety of programmes designed to serve the needs of the business community including Foundation Degrees, postgraduate study and short courses. We have excellent links with community and public sector partners, particularly within the Cultural and Creative Industries and strong national and international links in research and professional engagement in the areas of social sciences, humanities, creative arts and education. Through our Enterprise Education and Business Start Up Scheme we aim to encourage and support entrepreneurial activity in the region. Wired Wessex, an established network that supports New Media SMEs across the region, is based at the Research and Knowledge Transfer Centre, and in collaboration with Winchester City Council we co-ordinate Café Culture, an informal networking group for professionals working within the creative sector in the Winchester area. The Research & Knowledge Transfer Centre is the first port of call for all enquiries. To find out more about how we can help you contact:

By the standards of today’s universities, the University of Winchester is small, with some 3000 full-time and 2500 part-time students. Most are following undergraduate courses, though we have a significant and growing number of students on Masters and Doctoral level courses. We seek to support and contribute to the business, professional and cultural life of the city, county and region through the range of services we can offer, including research, consultancy, continuing professional development and training, networking opportunities, undergraduate placements and graduate recruitment.
